We thus were weighed down in the race.

When cares of this world would entangle like briars,

Be filled with the Word and the Spirit of fire!
Strive boldly and cast off each care.

When people spread rumors of lies and deceit,
Don’t listen to things that they say.
When Satan brings food that is doubtful to eat,
Reject it and drive him away.
