1.
A time to shout has come!
A mighty work is done!
The Lord Almighty has Himself a work of grace begun.
Now all the poor will hear,
and all the foes will fear
The voice of one who’s found new life and sings it far and near.
O what victory! O what liberty!
O what mighty things we now can see!
Let praise and thanks resound!
The foes are all cast down!
The Lord is mighty; let His praise be shouted all around!
2.
A life that’s new begins;
now ends the life of sin.
All foolishness, all lusts and envy no more to come in!—
A way that’s new to go,
where all Christ’s virtues show,
A happy life where God can bless and all His good bestow.
O what victory! O what liberty!
O what mighty things we now can see!
Yes, God is good and kind;
none greater could we find,
Who gives to all His humble ones a new and faithful mind.
now ends the life of sin.
All foolishness, all lusts and envy no more to come in!—
A way that’s new to go,
where all Christ’s virtues show,
A happy life where God can bless and all His good bestow.
O what victory! O what liberty!
O what mighty things we now can see!
Yes, God is good and kind;
none greater could we find,
Who gives to all His humble ones a new and faithful mind.
3.
A man of sin is dead!
A life with Christ as Head!
The hunger of the enemy no longer will be fed!
His blood poured on the ground! His mighty walls thrown down!
What victory, what grace, what glory—let God’s praises sound!
O what victory! O what liberty!
O what mighty things we now can see!
Now onward to the goal
by faith we’ll surely go!—
To do His will and love Him still as in His grace we grow.
