Over the earth sinks the darkness of night

1.
Over the earth sinks the darkness of night.
God’s sure Word of prophecy shines as a light.
The signs of the times unto us are made clear;
It soon will be midnight! The cry we’ll then hear!
Chorus:
/: Hark! Here comes the Bridegroom! :/
/: Go, go forth to meet Him! :/
2.
Time goes so quickly! That Day’s drawing nigh.
Don’t let any chance to be saved pass you by.
If you will buy oil now and garments of white,
Your lamp you’ll with joy and with confidence light.
3.
There will be some put to shame on that Day.
No life hid with God in Christ Jesus have they.
With lamps that are darkened, they’ll weep so distraught,
For though they’ve had grace, they no oil will have bought.
4.
From all that hinders and binds you, break free!
Come, pray that expectant in spirit you’ll be.
If God’s Word with patient endurance we heed,
We’ll surely from great tribulation be freed.
5.
Soon will the heavenly marriage take place;
The bride will stand, saved from all need, by God’s grace.
From earth’s darkest hour the bride will be spared,
For when the cry comes she’ll be fully prepared.
