Sing a song of praise to God, my brethren!

1.
Sing a song of praise to God, my brethren!
Praised be God for His love we see!
In my need I called to God in heaven,
And He heard me and set me wholly free.
Praise God for the way of victory,
Which our Savior made for you and me.
Therefore, praise Him for the Sword and balsam
You receive when upon this way you go.
Chorus:
Hear the call resounding: “Jesus has conquered.
You can overcome like Him!”
If you this believe,
God’s Spirit you’ll receive;
So come inside the brothers’ ring.
Jesus’ brothers have His Spirit and power,
Which their Father gives each one.
They’ll be cleansed, refined, and tested by fire
In the same way as God’s Son.
2.
What you need is fire sent from heaven
When you walk here so lazily.
How life ebbs without faith’s mighty Spirit.
Godly zeal makes you lift your wings, so free!
Fly like eagles high above the ground;
Lift your vision; let your faith be sound.
You will know the pow’r that comes from heaven;
Earthly things will not hinder anymore.
3.
Pow’r you need as soldiers in God’s army,
For without it your sword hangs low.
Laziness just weakens men of valor;
Rest from sin can’t be yours till blood does flow.
From the midst of Zion comes a fire;
Filled with faith and zeal, you will not tire.
Let the Sword and balsam work within you;
Then a fragrance of life will come from you.
4.
Hear the saved rejoice with jubilation
In the oneness that they can share.
Feasting at His table of salvation,
They eat food that is rich beyond compare.
We rejoice to hear the Lord’s sharp Word.
In the light, we work with what we’ve heard.
We get sights upon sin’s root within us;
And our comfort’s the victor’s crown we’ll win.
