Be still, O my soul, as you follow

1.
Be still, O my soul, as you follow
Your Savior wherever He leads.
His joy will be ever the portion
Of each soul who obeys and believes.
2.
Be still, O my soul, when you’re given
The cup filled with suff’rings untold.
When fire from the Lord doth refine you,
Then your faith will come forth like pure gold.
3.
Be still if your Lord you would follow,
In patience led forth like a lamb.
He stilleth the waves and the tempest;
O my soul, be at rest in His hand.
