Great God, our Father, true and only comfort,
At this blest time our hearts to Thee draw nigh.
And from our spirit, prayers and sighs are rising
To Thee who hearest every secret cry.

Let silence reign within my spirit’s temple.
Thy voice shall be my judgment, comfort, guide.
By full salvation—life in great abundance—
My thirst and hunger shall be satisfied.

Be glorified, O Father, now among us,
In holiness, in righteousness and pow’r.
And let the name of Jesus be triumphant;
Dear God, reward His sufferings this hour.

Grant that the Gospel of the cross may flourish,
That sinners bow before Thee at Thy feet.
O may Thy people in Thy fear be nurtured
And for their great inheritance made meet.

5.

So, Lord, we thank Thee for Thy grace abundant;
The fruit of Jesus’ suff’rings we shall be.
By Thee alone our hearts are now established.
Eternal praise and honor unto Thee!
