A faithful man—that he’s esteemed is rightful,
For God Himself does honor such a man.
His life is pure, his teaching is delightful,
And he excels in wisdom from God’s hand.

A faithful man can do aright.

A faithful man with self is never sided;
Just what belongs to Christ is his desire,
And by God’s laws and Spirit he is guided.
Upon his altar burns a holy fire.

A faithful man—a vessel to God’s honor—
He’s always ready, both in deed and word.
What he obtains from God can nourish others;
He only speaks what he from God has heard.

We thank the Lord for true and faithful brothers.
The harlot spirits meet their answer here.
A faithful man will not be swayed by others.
His trumpet always sounds distinct and clear.

Through faithful lives God’s temple is erected;
Its walls and tow’rs stand fast forevermore.
Through faithful lives the Church will be protected.
A faithful man is skillful thus to war.

We have a heav’nly call that we’ve been given.
Let’s heed God’s Son, who lived here faithfully,
And humble brothers, by the Spirit driven.
They show the way; yes, here it’s safe to be.
