1.
Babylon the great, her fall is near—
Unto heaven high her guilt—
Where the world’s great men are manifest,
Guilty with her to the hilt.
O come out from her! O My people, come!
Flee to God from Babylon!
Twice repaid she’ll be for all that she
’Gainst the Lord has said and done.
Unto heaven high her guilt—
Where the world’s great men are manifest,
Guilty with her to the hilt.
O come out from her! O My people, come!
Flee to God from Babylon!
Twice repaid she’ll be for all that she
’Gainst the Lord has said and done.
Chorus:
Let the heav’ns rejoice!
Babel soon will fall!
Saints and prophets, praise the Lord!
She’ll be judged by God, the Judge of all,
And her place shall be no more!
Babel soon will fall!
Saints and prophets, praise the Lord!
She’ll be judged by God, the Judge of all,
And her place shall be no more!
2.
Blood of saints and faithful men of God,
Blood of lambs who bore God’s name,
In her bosom of deceit is found.
O what mockery and shame!
She with brazenness and with great excess
Led God’s people here astray.
Hunger, death, and gloom shall be her doom.
God Almighty will repay!

In her bosom of deceit is found.
O what mockery and shame!
She with brazenness and with great excess
Led God’s people here astray.
Hunger, death, and gloom shall be her doom.
God Almighty will repay!
3.
He who murders and with malice speaks
Is a slave of Babylon.
He who hates clear light and judgment strong
Has to Babel also gone.
“He who does the truth must be put to death.”
Babel calls this “love and care.”
“Best for all,” she cries, “that this one dies.”
This is called compassion there.
