Behold, the Lord, my Shepherd. I nothing lack I'm free from cares

1.
Behold, the Lord, my Shepherd.
I nothing lack; I’m free from cares.
My sorrow and my burden
completely, now, for me He bears.
In green and lovely pastures
my soul by Him is kept.
To waters, calm and peaceful,
He leads my weary step.
He then my soul refreshes
with joy and liberty.
Upon His righteous way now,
I am so glad and free.
2.
If I must walk through darkness—
in death’s dark valley, all alone—
No evil can alarm me,
though I’m forsaken and unknown.
For You are my salvation.
No, never shall I fear.
With rod and staff You comfort
my heart with teachings clear.
My foes look on with awe at
the gifts of grace displayed
For me, upon your table
so bountifully laid.
3.
My head you have anointed—
with oil of gladness I’m bestowed.
No good have you denied me;
my cup of joy has overflowed.
Your goodness will pursue me
each moment that I live.
I’ll find the love and mercy
that You delight to give.
Forever shall I dwell in
the house of God so blest.
Though here I toil and battle,
I’ll there have endless rest.
