Words of life so wonderful

1.
Words of life so wonderful
Deep within my heart abide—
Laws, commandments, light, and truth,
Sent from God, my life to guide—
In each Word, life-giving seed,
Saving all who take good heed.
2.
Praise God for His precious Word,
You who trust with heart sincere.
’Tis unshakable and firm,
Makes the way of life so clear.
Dwelling in God’s Word and will,
Only then my soul is still.
3.
Word of God, two-edgèd Sword,
Worth more than an earthly crown,
Judges secrets of the heart,
Casts the prince of darkness down,
Cleaves asunder spirit, soul,
Teaches me the Lord to know.
4.
Light and lamp unto my feet,
Teacher, good and true, from God,
Heals my soul of all its ills,
Disciplines me like a rod.
Comfort, help in need I find;
Bread and fount of life are mine.
5.
Heav’n and earth shall pass away,
But God’s Word shall ever be.
Blest are they who this believe
And obey wholeheartedly.
Peace and light of life they’ll gain;
Evermore with Christ they’ll reign.
