Come, behold the bride of Jesus.
Pure and spotless, Him she pleases.
She the marks of Jesus bears,
And His sufferings she shares.

She is bowed and she is lowly.
She is lovely, pure, and holy—
Christ’s reproach bears willingly;
Hid with Christ in God is she.

While the others seek excesses,
She bears burdens, serves, and blesses.
At God’s altar she has found
