Behold, from God's throne He has stretched out His hand

1.
Behold, from God’s throne He has stretched out His hand,
O pilgrim, so tired and travailing.
The Lord saves the contrite and makes them to stand.
He’s faithful and true, never failing.
When floods of affliction sweep over your soul,
You can’t find a foothold and mist shrouds the goal,
Then glorify God, wait on Him, and be bold,
With faith that is strong and prevailing.
2.
When here on life’s pathway your feet become sore
From treading on thistles and briars,
Remember Christ came here and suffered and bore;
He chose to endure and to die here.
He sought not release, but unyieldingly fought;
To death He was true to the bride He had sought.
And when He returns, He will seek what is wrought
By faithfulness tried in the fire.
3.
A wedding dress weave that is shining and white.
The Bridegroom soon comes—be on fire!
Be sober and watchful; the time use aright.
Prepare without seams your attire.
For Jesus’ own garment without seams was made.
He walked in the works that before Him were laid.
His body He sacrificed as He obeyed;
God’s will was His only desire.
