Those who humbly with their God will

1.
Those who humbly with their God will
Walk on the way of Jesus’ cross—
On this way of self-denial,
God’s will they love; all else is dross—
These have eternal hope in heaven.
Everlasting life they’ll gain.
Suff’ring here, their lives they’ve given.
Soon they’ll the crown of life attain.
2.
Those who sow will soon come reaping;
All those who give, they will receive.
Comfort comes where there’s been weeping;
Blest are the upright who believe.
Lowly and bowed on earth they’re living;
For themselves no thought they take.
Comfort, help to others giving;
Never demands for self they make.
3.
Just a grain of wheat so hidden—
Only a few see glory there—
Christ to follow where you’re bidden,
Jesus’ reproach and shame to bear.
You will yield fruit that lasts forever,
Though on earth you are unknown—
In clay vessels hiding treasure.
Honor and pow’r are God’s alone.
