1.
King David in Israèl’s army
Let victorious songs ring out clear!
Praised God in the midst of his trials,
For he knew that the vict’ry was near.
He sang praises to God with his sitar,
With his harp and with timbrel and dance.
Marching forward with songs in the battle,
He in triumph did boldly advance.
Let victorious songs ring out clear!
Praised God in the midst of his trials,
For he knew that the vict’ry was near.
He sang praises to God with his sitar,
With his harp and with timbrel and dance.
Marching forward with songs in the battle,
He in triumph did boldly advance.
2.
The ark came to rest in God’s temple.
David sang and let praises resound.
Then doubting was finished entirely!
Unbelief was completely torn down.
And he sang of his portion delightful,
Which abundantly God had outpoured.
His inheritance truly was blessed,
For his portion and cup was the Lord.
David sang and let praises resound.
Then doubting was finished entirely!
Unbelief was completely torn down.
And he sang of his portion delightful,
Which abundantly God had outpoured.
His inheritance truly was blessed,
For his portion and cup was the Lord.
3.
O magnify God, all you heavens!
All you angels and all of God’s hosts!
You stars of His firmament, praise Him!
Sun and moon, mountains, hills, seas, and coasts!
Praise the Lord from the earth, all you peoples!
All that breathes, with thanksgiving be filled!
When you’re filled with thanksgiving and praises,
You’ll be free and your need will be stilled.
