Seek the true and ancient pathway;
Seek the way that leads to God.
Seek the way of Jesus’ cross, and
Find the footsteps that He trod.

Walked this way of faith and came
To the blessed goal eternal,
And not one was put to shame.

Cast off sin and all that binds you!
Be prepared your God to meet.
By His Spirit He will seal you.
Soon His bride will be complete.

’Tis no life of dreams and feelings,
Nor of thoughts built on the sand.
You’ll life’s true and hidden meaning
By the Spirit understand.

Now a people to God’s honor,
True and pure, for Him prepares.
Jesus’ bride is getting ready—

Righteous deeds done in the Spirit—
Every action, word, and thought—

Watch and pray—rise up for battle!
Fight the fight of faith ’gainst sin.
Be alert! Be sober-minded!
Days are evil! Don’t give in.

Seek God’s face both morn and evening!

More and more He will transform you
So His glory comes to view.

Soon the bride goes to the wedding;
She’s prepared—His heart’s desire.
She’ll without a spot or wrinkle
Stand before His eyes of fire.
