The glad days of childhood you're leaving

1.
The glad days of childhood you’re leaving,
And youth time now blossoms for you.
Seek Jesus—His guidance receiving.
Have one aim in all that you do:
Chorus:
Like Jesus who conquered all sin;
Not once did He ever give in.
He did not yield to temptation,
But conquered, yes, conquered all sin.
2.
No stains of this world yet defile you;
Sin’s pathway you never have trod.
Take heed so your lusts don’t beguile you.
Your body was made to serve God,
3.
Your youth time has worth beyond measure.
With Jesus true joy you will know.
Do not be ensnared by sin’s pleasure;
You’ll thus avoid sorrow and woe,
4.
Seek Jesus when good days you’re given.
Seek Jesus when tested and proved.
Let everything draw you t’ward heaven.
When you’re all alone, stand unmoved,
5.
Be vigilant! Strive, without sparing,
So nothing defiles you within.
Alert to keep lusts from ensnaring,
Yes, battle!—and vict’ry you’ll win.
