'Tis daybreak now, brethren God's light now shines in

1.
’Tis daybreak now, brethren; God’s light now shines in;
From darkness to light we march on.
The mist now is clearing from soul and from mind;
We’ll soon be on Zion, our home.
Behind us are bondage, division, and strife,
And shepherds that seek but their own.
But now we’ve a glimpse of a far diff’rent life,
Where light in the evening will dawn.
2.
So, God’s little flock, you must quicken your pace.
You fearful, be clothed in His pow’r!
Cast off every hindrance to run in the race;
By faith you will grow hour by hour.
In freedom you’ll blossom and spread forth your leaves,
And constantly fruit you will bear.
You’ll nourish and bless every soul who believes;
In glory His throne you will share.
