For Zion's sake our Lord will

1.
For Zion’s sake our Lord will no longer silent be.
Jerusalem He quickens with yearning,
Till righteousness as brightness within her gates we see—
Salvation like a beacon brightly burning.
(Is. 62)
2.
The righteousness of God to the nations will be shown.
All kings will see His glory shine clearly.
A new name He knows only, engraved on pure white stone,
He’ll give to her whom He has loved so dearly.
3.
You’ll be a crown of glory held in your Master’s hand,
A beautiful adornment, so royal.
The Spirit of the Lord shall completely fill your land.
And you’ll be called “True Wife,” so pure and loyal.
4.
Just as a man who chooses a wife to wed down here,
The Savior His redeemed ones does treasure.
Yes, even as a bride to her bridegroom’s heart is dear,
Jerusalem will be to God’s good pleasure.
5.
Jerusalem, around you are watchmen on your walls.
By God Himself they’re placed, watching ever.
They cry out, “God preserve us and keep us one and all.”
Yes, day and night their cry is silenced never.
6.
The Lord Himself has sworn by His mighty hand and arm:
Your increase shall no stranger devour.
The fruits of your own labor you’ll eat and none shall harm.
Unto the foe He’ll thereby show His power.
7.
O enter through the gates; for the people make a way.
The highway clear of stones and of clutter.
Give place to Zion’s daughter; she comes to Me today.
And who would ’gainst her right one word dare utter?
