He who makes a bold confession,
Saying that he loves the Lord,
Shows the truth of his profession:
Words and deeds are in accord.
God’s Word is for him a mirror.
He is no forgetful hearer.
“He who loves Me keeps My Word,”
This we have from Jesus heard.

He who joy in life is seeking
And good days desires to see
Must refrain from evil speaking
And from guile his lips keep free.
Only works of light he’s doing,
Deeper cleansing still pursuing—
For God searches every heart,
Knows each secret, hidden part.

Turn from wrong—the good pursuing;
Seek for peace and holiness.
Be not swayed by evildoing.
Keep to paths of righteousness.
If in meekness you are learning
More of Him, His will discerning,
You’ll anointed be indeed
As you to His Word take heed.
