God is good who unto us has given

1.
God is good who unto us has given
Christ, in whom His fullness dwells complete.
All God’s riches in His Son are hidden;
He is able all life’s needs to meet.
In the times of trouble He’ll deliver,
When in Him our confidence we place.
/: Like a tree that’s planted by the river,
We shall grow and flourish by His grace. :/
2.
God’s abundant love, so rich and boundless,
Covers e’en a multitude of sins.
From the cross His love flows out, so righteous;
In the flesh all sin He did condemn.
More and more, we see our sin and self-life;
More and more, new life with Christ we gain.
/: Life becomes increasingly more natural
When in God we faithfully remain. :/
3.
God has planned all things for our salvation.
O what wisdom deep and manifold!
’Tis to make us whole that God does chasten;
Faith thus tried exceeds the worth of gold.
To possess our spirit God is yearning;
Fire within He brings to make us pure.
/: And with thoughts of peace His heart is burning;
In our need He gives us comfort, sure. :/
4.
As you fight the fight of faith, beloved,
Be courageous, trusting in the Lord.
Never hide your lamp beneath a bushel;
Make great haste to keep God’s precious Word.
You’ll be filled with peace and joy from heaven;
All your paths will shine as noonday sun.
/: An abundant entrance you’ll be given,
For by faith life’s crown you will have won. :/
