Forward, warriors, to battle and conquer!

1.
Forward, warriors, to battle and conquer!
Every man be prepared now to fight.
Give your all, and advance now with power.
Put your trust in the Lord and His might.
Forward warriors! God’s way now must be
From hypocrisy cleansed and from flatt’ry made free,
That a highway be made for His bride.
We praise God and the Lamb who for us died,
When we strive for the right, His Word our guide.
In Jesus’ blood we’ve might
To slay each foe we fight.
On words of promise we shall stand
And take the fathers’ land.
2.
Men so lofty with knowledge and learning
Fill the ranks of the foe with their kind.
As performers they stand undiscerning;
In their numbers they confidence find.
Yet God’s counsels and pow’r they don’t know,
Which instructs both the learnèd and layman to go
Through the flesh unto vict’ry o’er sin.
With the least of His laws you can begin.
Light from heaven as lightning will shine in.
God’s Word gives peace in strife.
Be armed to live this life.
We shall break through with pow’r we tap
From David’s root and sap.
3.
Now the stormtroopers press through with violence
As the flanks bring to naught every foe!
All you stragglers, wake up from your silence!
Look to heaven as forward you go.
See the land! Fruit abounds without end.
An aroma of sweetness to God does ascend.
God’s good pleasure is found on this way.
Therefore give yourself wholly and obey.
Light will shine then, unto the perfect day.
All darkness from you cast!
Make haste! Time’s going fast.
And those who have the Spirit’s mind
Soon Zion’s glory find.
4.
Be ashamed, preacher, prophet, and pastor—
You who stand ’gainst the truth of God’s Word.
Worldly honor and gain is your master.
In your greatness you walk undeterred.
Yet, by light and by Spirit and Sword
You will see what your greatness is worth to the Lord.
Weighed on scales made of gold you’ll be tried,
Thus revealing the secret things you hide,
For the Spirit finds all that dwells inside.
Rise up, Christ’s bride, today!
Be clothed in pure array.
God’s judgments flow forth from His hand
Out into Beulah land.
