O what a celebration—the best in every way!
For Jesus is attending a wedding feast today.
The bridegroom and the bride Heanoints with joy divine.
Yes, He can still today change the water into wine.

How blest when two are joined in Christ’s Spirit and His name,
When hearts are joined together, aglow with love’s pure flame.
When both their hearts are filled with a holy, godly fear,
Then shines the Morning Star with its rays so bright and clear.

When hidden, precious pearls of the heart adorn the bride—
With spirit meek and pure, standing at her bridegroom’s side—
Her quiet deeds say more than ten thousand words express.
She wins her bridegroom’s heart and abides in happiness.

When from God’s Word and Spirit the bridegroom strength obtains,
Then grace to be both shepherd and prince at home he gains.
And to his power, wisdom adds tenderness in life;
The head he is at home, a support unto his wife.

To have a home like Eden’s fair garden was of old,
Then crush the serpent’s head, and clear skies you will behold.
Here shines, with peace and healing, the Sun of Righteousness;
The fragrance from your garden both far and near will bless.

A home that is a Bethel to ruins never falls;
You’ve there a door to heaven within your own four walls;
For there a “Jacob’s ladder” right to God’s throne ascends.
You strive and gain the power to keep the Lord’s commands.

From want and need you’re free when your home’s a Bethlehem;
When hungry souls come in, you have bread of life for them.
You set before the Church, food of rich eternal worth.
Your home is for God’s people, a refuge here on earth!

O precious bridal couple with fire of dawn aglow,
When trials come, O may you in triumph through them go.
O may God bless you richly with grace that’s manifold,
So faith, when tried, yields treasure that’s worth much more than gold.

We turn our hearts t’ward heaven and pray that God will bless
This precious bride and bridegroom with lasting happiness.
May all of us here gathered perceive our call and way,
So we in heaven meet at Christ’s wedding feast one day.
