What Message Do You Have?

When Jesus was on earth, He was put to death in the flesh but made alive by the Spirit, by whom also He went and preached the gospel to the spirits in prison. 1 Pet. 3:18-19. This Spirit, which had been made alive, had a message. Jesus came and put to death the desire in His flesh. This is why He had this message: “Go and sin no more.” John 8:11.

Paul was in prison and could write: Rejoice, and again I say, rejoice. Phil. 4:4. This was a powerful message that the apostle was able to proclaim with his life. Death was at work in him, and life in the others. Problems arise when this is turned upside down— when we demand that death should be at work in others so that we ourselves can live. But Paul could testify that the death of Christ was always at work in his body, so that the life could be manifested. 2 Cor. 4:10-12. In the midst of the worst situations, he showed himself as a servant of Christ. Ch. 6:1-10.

In this Spirit of faith, he had a message of complete victory. His life became an aroma of life to life, but at the same time also an aroma of death to death for those who were perishing. A disciple radiates the glory of Christ in His beauty and warmth, but at the same time, there is a clarity and sharpness where sin and ungodliness are not tolerated.

When the word of God is not weakened, but acts as a two-edged sword—first in their own life—there is also power in their preaching. Suffer death in the flesh, and take this pain upon yourself! Then you will sense that life also comes forth. Because when we die with Him, we will also live with Him. The resurrection power of Jesus Christ will be manifested in our lives in our different circumstances.

This is the great salvation that Jesus came with. This brings a message that helps, comforts, and exhorts. If we live according to the flesh, the works of the flesh will come forth. This is also a message.

But if we walk in the Spirit, the fruits of the Spirit will become evident. Gal. 5:22-25. These fruits have a blessed aroma and are beneficial to those around us.
