The Life of Christ

“But the ones that fell on the good ground are those who, having heard the word with a noble and good heart, keep it and bear fruit with patience.” Luke 8:15. We all long for the fruits to be manifest so that the life of Christ can come forth in us. It is this longing that drives us to keep His word and not be just a forgetful hearer.

Godly fear instructs us that what is required is utmost faithfulness in the hidden, with patience, so that the word can bear fruit. We are exhorted not to cast away our confidence, which has great reward.

“For you have need of endurance, so that after you have done the will of God, you may receive the promise.” Heb. 10:35-36. It is good to have such exhortations especially when we see our own lacks, so we know that it can take some time. In the midst of our weakness, we can have great confidence in God, knowing that if we are faithful in our hidden life with Christ in God, we will in due season appear with Him in glory. Col. 3:3-4.

He who promised is faithful!
