497. Prayer Day Conference 1938

Once again it was good and blessed to see the many precious friends who come to the conferences year after year. But there were also many people that we have never seen before. Once again the hall was packed full, but things went well and there was enough room for all of us.

The testimonies covered so many areas. Brother Aslaksen testified about the laws of valuation. If people value and appreciate something, they make a real effort to lay hold of it. Several brothers testified about being tested as every link of a chain is tested individually, and then the whole chain is tested. If one link is at breaking point, the entire chain cannot tolerate more tension than this link. If we have many strong sides, but one weak one, we cannot tolerate any more than this weak side can bear.

Many people expressed sincere thankfulness to God that they had received light and had learned to love God’s commandments. They testified that their whole desire was to do God’s will and that it was not bondage at all.

A congregation of three to four hundred people was given full liberty to testify, and this took place in a harmonious and good Spirit to everyone’s satisfaction. That is how God works when the flesh is crucified and people honor and respect God’s commandments.
