476. Prayer Day Conference 1935
Once again we had a conference that was especially good and blessed by God. The meeting hall was packed, as usual.
We heard about Joseph who took an oath from his brethren that they would carry his bones with them from Egypt to the land which God had sworn to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Genesis 50:24. He said, “God will surely visit you, and bring you out of this land.” Exodus 13:19 and Joshua 24:32.
God used Joseph to keep a whole nation alive during a long famine; and now, during all their difficulties in the wilderness, his dead bones were to witness to them that God would surely lead them into the land of Canaan.
This also testifies about Jesus’ earthly body because we bear His death with us during our journey toward our heavenly Canaan. He has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” That is just like Joseph said, “God will surely bring you out of this land to the land which God gave Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.”
We then spoke about the laws of the body, that all the members care for each other. If anyone has a sore big toe, all their other members gather around it. When one is in need, the remaining members seek to help. Everything happens according to the Spirit’s promptings and reminders and exhortations from God’s servants.
We all agreed that the light is shining clearly among us, but that it is difficult to get our life up to the level of the light, so that it can be our light of life.
