461. Pentecost Conference 1933

Once again one of our great and mighty conferences has passed into eternity. Once again we have stood face to face with Him who has caused many people in Israel to fall or to rise. Once again we have come to the stone of stumbling in Zion, where all flesh stumbles. All the manifold wisdom, grace, and love of God are just amazing. The place was full, yet there was room for everyone. It could easily have been overcrowded, but God is with us and is in control of everything.

Brothers Ellefsen and Bratlie had a conference in Schleswig together with the Danish friends. Here the cart of salvation also moves along into a deeper life in God. Many people are waking up to this: to be conformed to Jesus in His death. God’s manifold wisdom gives us much work to do. When Jacob drew near to Esau on the way to Canaan, he first sent the female servants and their children on ahead. Leah and her children came next, and then finally, Rachel and Joseph. God has His workers in the outermost places, closest to the world. But He also has them where the last remnants of evil are to be driven out, where people are being perfected for the work of ministry. Rachel and Joseph, the most precious, come last. This is always the way to meet Esau.
