O Jesus Christ, my Savior, Your name extolled shall be!

1.
O Jesus Christ, my Savior, Your name extolled shall be!
My heart is filled with praise and thanksgiving.
You rescued me from death and with love enfolded me!
With You I’ll ever dwell among the living!
2.
You don’t despise the lowly, though poor and weak they be;
With joy and praise my heart’s overflowing.
Through life I rushed—You stopped me and said, “Come follow Me.”
Surrend’ring all, I’m boldly forward going.
3.
Your faithfulness ne’er wavers; it lasts eternally.
Your love for me pours forth like a river.
You chasten and You comfort just when it’s right for me,
And from the fowler’s snare, Lord, You deliver!
4.
As members of Christ’s body we’re fashioned by God’s Son,
And He’s the Head, so pure and so glorious.
My prayer is to obey, Lord, so all Your will is done.
Your Spirit, as You promised, goes before us.
5.
How can I but give thanks, and praise God in heav’n above.
His ways from wise and prudent are hidden.
I’ll praise my King forever, for by His wondrous love,
To be Christ’s bride the lowly have been bidden.
