O strengthen our hearts, dear Lord Jesus!
Give grace that Your Word we believe.
In joy and in sorrow, O help us,
Your Word in good earth to receive.
When fire is sent down from heaven
To purge away self, give us grace
That we don’t draw back and we’re never
Unfaithful when trials we face.

Give grace to be like You, Lord Jesus,
That humbly life’s pathway we go.
May all worldly glamour mean nothing
Compared unto all You bestow.
Your cross and Your suff’rings will draw us
Away from this world’s empty ways
And into the heavenly blessings,
Prepared for each soul who obeys.

The way, truth, and life is Christ Jesus;
To us He this clearly revealed.
And if we’re to Him fully yielded,
Our cov’nant with Him is then sealed.
His peace and His life He has promised
When gladly His Word we obey.
We’ll faithfully keep His commandments.
We show that we love Him this way.

4.

Come weary ones! Come now to Jesus!
With rest He your heart longs to fill.
And bearing His yoke will be easy.
You then will grow humble and still.
The Lord will Himself give you power;
His burden is light for the weak.
And meekness you’ll learn from the Master
If you from the Lord this will seek.
