O I give praise to Thee, my precious Savior, Friend

1.
O I give praise to Thee, my precious Savior, Friend,
For all that Thou hast done for me.
The straight and narrow way for me is open now;
Upon this way I’ll follow Thee.
Thou art my only goal; Thou canst redeem my soul
And bring me to the place where I can see Thy face.
O help me, Savior, now in all my ways to come
To Thee and to the throne of grace.
2.
In life I will draw near with perfect heart of faith,
Of all offense my conscience clear.
I’ll walk this living way, the veil of flesh to rend,
And in the Holy Place appear.
O blessed fellowship with Thee in suffering—
What perfect harmony when this I share with Thee.
O may it ever be my daily joy to die
And live with Thee eternally.
3.
O help me, Savior, be a sacrifice for Thee,
Devoted to Thy will for me,
That by Thy life and love Thy precious Church may grow
And come to perfect unity.
As gold, my life refine; I long for life divine.
So purge the dross away, by fire, from day to day.
Please help me that I be a constant source of joy
To Thee and to Thy saints, I pray.
4.
I’ll “Hallelujah” sing, my Savior, Lord and King;
O Thou art worthy of my praise!
For Thou wilt help me, Lord, that all my thoughts and deeds
Be always in Thy will and ways.
Thou dost delight my heart; Thou all perfection art.
Thou wilt give grace to me, that I can be like Thee.
All glory, praise to Thee, my heav’nly Bridegroom dear;
When Thou dost come, I’d ready be.
