The time is surely coming—the Lord has set the Day

1.
The time is surely coming—the Lord has set the Day—
When all that is exalted will fall in disarray.
Each tower and each mountain will crumble to the ground.
The God of our salvation will cast proud spirits down.
The Lord of heaven, the King of Kings He is.
No man can share His greatness there.
Forever He’ll rule in righteousness.
(Is. 2:12-18)
2.
God now prepares His people who walk in godly fear
To share in Jesus’ glory. That Day is drawing near.
God sends His Holy Spirit to judge and cleanse within.
His chastisement will save you from haughty pride and sin.
Bow low, be humble, and let the judgment fall.
His life you’ll gain; with Christ you’ll reign.
Forever He’ll be your all in all.
3.
A great abomination are pride and lofty ways.
The lowly ones among us God treasures all their days.
For those who bow and seek Him in true humility
Will surely be exalted for all eternity.
Submitting gladly, a true example be!
When this you do, God’s grace in you
Will lead you in constant victory.
4.
From God life-giving waters flow down to lowly ground.
The Spirit’s pow’r is given to those who will bow down.
Death dwells on pride’s high mountain; but life grows down below
Where Jesus helps the needy; there living waters flow.
Let fire consume you, the fire of lowliness.
Triumphantly, forever free,
You’ll dwell in eternal blessedness.
