O where are they, dear Lord, they who love Thy good law?
Where in all this dark world can I find them?
How I long to go out, to dispel all their doubt,
To bring comfort, to strengthen and bless them.

Living faith in Thy Word in their hearts must be stirred
So they also find power to conquer.
It brings sorrow to me, for it’s grievous to see
That so many, defeated, do suffer.

Where they are, Thou dost know; so the way to them show,
That Thy fellowship sweet we may nurture;
For each true, seeking soul who has Christ as his goal
Will delight in His footsteps to follow.

What Thou gavest me, God, I will spread it abroad;
I will strengthen the weak and the failing.
They who love Thee, O Lord, and delight in Thy law,
Give them strength, that in nothing they’re lacking.
