There is vict’ry to win if you’re wretched and small;

You can vict’ry attain just as Jesus, God’s Son,
If you’ll battle in prayer as the Savior has done.
You must weep; you must pray; know your need, know it well—
Understand that no good in your flesh e’er can dwell.

Though man’s wisdom you’ve sought and your knowledge is great,
When you stand before God, it will not give you weight.
That which weighs in His scales is to overcome sin.
Just the simple of heart to His life enter in.

Those who trust in their own understanding will stray,
So be quiet and still; trust in God day by day.
If you keep God’s good laws, you’ll gain wisdom inside;
Godly wisdom’s revealed to the Savior’s dear bride.
