Dear soul, far afield you have wandered

1.
Dear soul, far afield you have wandered;
No life in the Lord do you know.
Remember, your days here are numbered,
And soon from this earth you must go.
2.
Who knows how much time you have left here
Or when you will see your last day?
Who knows when by death you’ll be bidden,
And you’re to your place borne away?
3.
Who knows when your Judge you’ll be meeting—
When you must before Him appear?
Who knows when the trump will be sounding,
And judgment from God you must hear?
4.
Christ paid a high price to redeem you;
Don’t let Satan stand in your way.
Wait not—soon the door will be closing.
O hasten to Jesus, I pray.
5.
Dear soul, I know well the Lord Jesus;
He’s earnestly longing for you.
He changes to good all the evil.
Your burden He’ll bear for you too.
6.
Yes, Jesus is kindly and loving;
He’s gentle to each grieving soul.
His voice is delightful and glorious;
He’s ever my portion and goal.
