Rise, young people!

1.
Rise, young people! Lift your vision upward!—
You who serve the Lord with heart and soul.
Come, young people! Move with boldness forward!
Time is short, so press on to the goal!
Break through all that here would bind you!
What men say you need not heed.
Why let prison walls confine you,
When by God you can be freed?
2.
Flee, young people, From the world’s attraction!
Do not let your soul be led astray.
Haste, young people! Go at once to action!
Crucial is the time; use well each day.
Heaven’s kingdom take by violence!
Don’t draw back; use all your might!
Satan and his hosts you’ll silence.
Evermore they’ve lost the fight.
3.
Arm, young people! ’Tis a fight worth fighting.
God shall do great things within your life.
Fight, young people; Treasure that’s abiding
You will gain, so hold out in the strife.
War’s proclaimed ’gainst all that’s evil:
Envy, hate, all sin and wrong.
These shall fall as you are faithful
To your God, who makes you strong.
4.
Think, young people—Inner transformation!
All your evil shall be cleansed away.
Sing, young people, Songs of jubilation
For God’s love and wondrous works each day.
You’ll partake of God’s own nature;
Faithful’s He who promised this.
Filled with goodness, love, and virtue,
You’ll tread paths of righteousness.
