Arise and fight! Be armed and always ready.
For Satan has a short time left to fight.
He works deceit, but carnal are his weapons.
Take up the Spirit’s Sword and strive with might.
From pow’rs of darkness you must be delivered—
From all deception set completely free.
So swing your Sword to right and left with boldness.
Though he may rage, you’ll win the victory.

The devil’s sure to fail despite his cunning,
If to ourselves we always take good heed
And in the light God sends we judge our self-life.
Then he has lost and flees away with speed.
The weapons Jesus used were in the Spirit.
God’s Word for Him was like a mighty tow’r.
He sought not greatness, but was poor and lowly
And overcame in all things by God’s pow’r.

Consider Jesus—see how He waged warfare!
With steadfast heart He strove and did not tire.
He watched and prayed, thus nothing could deceive Him,
Though night and day His faith was tried by fire.
Be not amazed that trials are your portion,
For here on earth they serve us for our best.
The Sword must cleave asunder soul and spirit,
Thus we’ll be freed indeed and enter rest.
