How blest to meet one another
When flesh has been crucified,
So God reigns within, and no other,
And He is alone glorified.
His Word flows forth as a river
To comfort, to judge, to guide—
The captives of sin to deliver,
Their hunger and thirst satisfied.

Then souls filled with jubilation
In pow’r of the cross delight.
The pris’ners find true liberation;
They’re freed by the cross from sin’s might.
For we’ve been purchased by Jesus;
No more slaves of man are we.
Through Christ we prevail—Satan flees us.
We’ll mighty as Gideon be.

Please help us, dear Lord, to ever
Stand faithful and not to fail,
To stay on the cross and to never
Give in, though the foes may assail.
We’ll look to You and not cower,
For You on the cross o’ercame.
The cross crushes all Satan’s power,
And we’ll on the cross vict’ry claim.
