As Christ was in this world, this same lot in life have we

1.
As Christ was in this world, this
same lot in life have we,
For how the Vine is treated,
so will the branches be.
If people have received Him,
then they’ll receive you too.
And where He’s been rejected,
this treatment they’ll give you.
2.
My lot on earth is glorious,
beyond all else by far.
For Christ became like us, and
like Him we also are.
If any truly love Him,
they also will love you.
And everyone who hates Him
will surely hate you too.
3.
And those who wanted Christ to
be crucified are they
Who also want to treat His
disciples that same way.
Yet no one had the power
to crucify Him till
The time that God the Father
appointed by His will.
4.
And that’s why we rejoice, and
in rest we onward go—
And why we preach with boldness
God’s Word without a show.
Not one who loves the truth will
be lost, the Lord has said—
For He it is who’s numbered
each hair upon your head.
