Jesus, my Savior, just Thee will I follow

1.
Jesus, my Savior, just Thee will I follow;
Naught else can stay my deep yearning so strong.
All that is earthly is worthless and shallow;
Thou art my life and my peace and my song.
I would be like Thee; I would be like Thee.
Deep in my heart, Lord, Thine image engrave.
Fill me with love; let it always compel me.
Freedom for me is to be, Lord, Thy slave.
2.
Jesus, I know that my flesh is so wretched;
Totally into Thy death it must come.
Though it opposes the Spirit so strongly,
Thy will, Thy Spirit, Lord, shall overcome.
O Lord, consume me! O Lord, consume me!
So, just as Enoch, no more I appear.
When in this world I have no reputation,
Jesus, I’ll know that to Thee I am dear.
3.
O my Redeemer, I know Thou art living.
Thou from the dust rose victoriously!
Break down my self-will completely to nothing.
Savior, all strength and all help is in Thee.
When things go downward, I will say, “Upward!”
If I am faithful, I’ll soon win the crown.
Lowly and hid is the pathway to glory;
Only by wisdom this way can be found.
