Two Kinds of Fear

The one kind of fear is what most people have for both this, that, and the other thing. Concerning all these things, God’s Word says, “Fear not!” All this kind of fear is therefore a transgression of God’s Word, which is a transgression of the law, which is sinning!

Jesus says: “But I will show you whom you should fear: Fear Him who . . . has the power to cast into hell . . .”! Luke 12:5.

Just as all other fear is sinful, so the fear of God is gloriously effective. The fear of God is to fear to displease God, which is to fear to sin, which means that you are in mortal fear of committing the least little sin!

By this fear, of which there is usually a great lack, one immediately departs far from sin!!! This effective fear is always lacking if there is anything wrong anywhere. Oh, that each and every one might believe this and, as a result, understand it!

Read and meditate constantly on everything in the Bible concordance under “fear” and “fear of God”! Then you will get the right understanding of life, which is precisely what most people lack.
