Give to Make Others Rich

As His disciples we shall love one another dearly, fervently, and without reservation! This is exceedingly great and unnatural. It is heavenly!

It is the same with this as with all the other words of God: Everything is possible to him who believes! However, as Isaiah, this great prophet of God saw and said, “Who has believed our report? And to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?” That is, to this great extent! Is. 53:1.

The extent to which Jesus loved us was expressed by Paul in a very simple yet amazing way in 2 Cor. 8:9, “For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sakes He became poor, that you through His poverty might become rich.” This is absolutely staggering to our human way of thinking and to our human “feelings”!

Yet this is precisely what Jesus fulfilled, and which shall now be fulfilled in us!!! This by far exceeds loving your neighbour as yourself! Rich people can give very much for the simple reason that they have so much. But to give so you yourself become poor to make others rich—this is our heavenly calling!

According to Jesus’ own words, pay heed to 2 Corinthians 8:3 and yourself, and continue in it!
