The Door of Faith Opened to the Gentiles
It was a great event when God opened the door of faith to the Gentiles, because they had previously been barred from the gospel of glory in the new covenant by the Law.
This door of faith was the opening to the greatest and everlasting glory. Now all things became new. Those who had the key could open the door to the most precious treasures of spiritual goods that any man could partake of.
Now both the Jews and the Greeks had the same rights to the heavenly inheritance. When Paul received the knowledge of this glory, everything else paled by comparison. Sufferings and tribulations became momentary and light, and the door could be opened to genuine and unfailing brotherhood.
A great and effective door was opened for Paul, but there were many adversaries. It is the same today, because the gate is strait and the way is narrow—but it leads to life.
Paul and the apostles had entered through the narrow gate of discipleship on to the way of the cross, which is closed to the flesh with its passions and desires but is open for walking forward in the Spirit in everything that is noble and good. They were poor in earthly goods but rich in all the virtues of Christ. Now we have the opportunity to be saved and transformed in the steps of Christ. By true grace we can enter into a victorious life with all its rich promises. 2 Cor. 6:1-10.
“Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” Rom. 15:13.
“But I know that when I come to you, I shall come in the fullness of the blessing of the gospel of Christ.” Rom. 15:29.
“I am filled with comfort. I am exceedingly joyful in all our tribulation.” 2 Cor. 7:4.
