Be Manly and Strong in the Faith
“Watch, stand fast in the faith, be manly, be strong. Let all that you do be done with love.” 1 Cor. 16:13-14.
“But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.” 1 Cor. 15:57-58.
We need to be spiritually steadfast as never before. Malice is attacking us from all sides. If we are to gain the victory in this battle we must fight against it with the courage and strength of faith. We fight against spiritual hosts of wickedness, and this host does not sleep. We must watch in this battle. We can read about this battle and the whole “armor” in Ephesians 6:1-17.
“Then the days of David drew near that he should die, and he charged Solomon his son, saying, ‘I go the way of all the earth; be strong, therefore, and prove yourself a man.’” 1 Kings 2:1-2. David was a strong man according to God’s heart, and God could use him to be a great blessing. He conquered God’s enemies, and with psalms and songs he praised the Messiah who was to come soon.
