“Who Has Hardened Himself Against Him and Prospered?”

Job 9:4

Did Korah and those who sided with him prosper? Nbrs. 16. Did Ananias and Sapphira prosper? Did Theudas, who claimed to be someone, and the four hundred men who died with him, prosper? Acts 5:36. Did Judas of Galilee and those who obeyed him, prosper? V. 37.

And those who in these days were rebellious against the elders among us—because they were of the opinion that they understood things better—who of them has prospered? Who of them has received an extra blessing as a reward for his obstinacy, his stubbornness, and his rebellion?

Both evil and good can be found in many different degrees. All of these rebellious people have ended up badly because of their rebelliousness, at least according to the degree of their stubbornness. In other words, it goes more or less badly with them.
