The Judgment of the Light
“And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed. But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his deeds may be clearly seen, that they have been done in God.” John 3:19-21.
The love of Christ is a judgment over all manner of egotism. It judges antipathy and sympathy. The seven lamps of fire proceeding from the throne of God go against these kinds of things.
The Spirit of wisdom is a judgment over all folly and impurity. Counsels from God judge all other counsels. The unity and brotherhood among us is a judgment over all the disunity and division that reigns in the religious world. “Love the brotherhood.” 1 Pet. 2:17. It is a light and judgment from heaven. Love one another sincerely from the heart. That is light and judgment.
We must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ. 2 Cor. 5:10. It is good to present yourself now—with your whole life—before this judgment seat and be a judge in the light together with Jesus who is the Prince of light. That is where righteousness, mercy, and peace reign.
“Shall the throne of iniquity, which devises evil by law, have fellowship with You?” Ps. 94:20. There they accuse one another in a terrible and destructive spirit. Thousands of innocent people are sitting in prisons and are being tortured. Such judges will not escape the eternal judgment.
It is a great comfort that we can judge ourselves now, so that we will not be judged afterwards. 1 Cor. 11:31.
Let us do everything we can, so that the children among us can be happy. Let them grow up in the sunshine and warmth of love, in goodness and firmness.
