Chosen Members

The body of Christ consists of chosen members with chosen ministries. There is good room for all of us! Not a single member of the body of Christ feels the need to change places. All of them have their anointed area that can be enlarged to encompass an increasingly greater blessing. They are chosen vessels, loved by the Lord.

Saul was chosen to be a Paul, a chosen vessel to bear God’s name before the Gentiles, kings, and the children of Israel. Acts 9:15. Through the power of the cross he grew strong in God’s wisdom in his chosen and high calling.

Peter said, “By my mouth.” By the mouth that had previously cursed and said that he did not know Jesus, by that tongue thousands were saved to a new life, and Jesus was exceedingly glorified. Acts 15:7.

As members of the body of Christ we enter into the work for which we were created. This is an eternal and glorious habitation that He loves and watches, so that everything will be ready at the right time. 1 Thess. 1:4.

Each member is to be filled with the life and the Spirit of the Word, resulting in an inner power that overcomes all sorts of evil tendencies and brings the virtues of Christ to the light through the gospel.

We will be richly blessed by entering into the law of blessings. He who keeps them and teaches them will be called great in the kingdom of heaven. Matt. 5:19. When one member is honored, all the other members rejoice, and in the church of the living God there is abundant opportunity to express this joy.

We are liberated from the heavy burden of sin by the good and glad message of the gospel. Each single sin committed in thought, word, and deed has horrendous consequences. All mankind is suffering because of sin. Quite a few marriages are dissolved, and the suffering children have to bear the greatest brunt. The light and warmth of love and the goodness that proceeds from each member of the body of Christ must unite everyone in the home and in the church. Each one prospers when he sacrifices himself and serves the others.

Happy is every one person who is united in the body of Christ, with Christ as the head.
