Unspotted From the World

James 1:27

James guarantees that this is pure and undefiled religion. It is very easy for everything to be defiled and influenced by the spirit of the world so that it is no longer genuine. But not this religion, says James.

This is undeniably God’s will, and is pleasing in God’s eyes. Here one cannot come with any “ifs, ands, or buts.” “Do not be conformed to this world . . . .” Rom. 12:2. That is Paul’s exhortation. It is the same as: Do not copy the things that the spirit of the world thinks of! Be “the head and not the tail.” Deut. 28:13.

Live an independent life in perfect obedience to all God’s words that tell us what is perfect in all areas!

In the worst cases, it is so bad that “converted” people faithfully follow the customs and practices of the world as if these were God’s Word and God’s will. How ironic!!!
