Strength and Peace
“The Lord will give strength to His people; the Lord will bless His people with peace.” Ps. 29:11.
It is impossible always to have peace, without the power of the Holy Spirit. Unrest and anxiety, discouragement and shyness want to weigh you down. They are strong spirit-powers that you cannot overcome in your own strength. Having done all you can, remain standing in the power of God. The powers of darkness will seek to keep us down in doubt and unbelief, but in faith and joy we are held up in the peace that surpasses all understanding, which is mighty to keep our hearts and thoughts in Christ Jesus. Phil. 4:7.
It takes great strength to leave your peace in a house where strong spirit-powers rule through backbiting and negative talk. Such spirit-powers have to be broken down so that the light of faith from God’s Word, which is the stronger power, can enlighten, and impart a blessing. Oh, how great it is when you enter a home where the parents are in the process of getting a divorce (as the children suffer) and then to be the bearer of a blessed peace to all their hearts!
Evil, selfish tendencies in us and around us are constantly causing unrest if they are not overcome. We need strength to bear one another’s burdens, strength to cast all our cares on Him who cares for us. It takes power to bear sickness and tribulations in peace, and in the midst of it all to bring a blessed peace to others.
A man of peace has a future. Ps. 37:37. If you have received this inner strength and peace, then you have received a glorious future by passing it on to others, as well as having a glorious future in all eternity.
In God’s kingdom, which consists of righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit, peace stands great and glorious between righteousness and joy. This kingdom can neither be moved nor overcome by any evil spirit-powers.
It is not God’s will that His people should be losers in the battle against evil; therefore He gives abundant strength to overcome, so that we can have peace.
