The Condition . . .
for having all your sins forgiven is, of course, that you want to be finished with sinning. You are in deadly earnest about it; otherwise it is meaningless.
That is why we read, “Go and sin no more” (John 8:11), and “Sin no more, lest a worse thing come upon you” (John 5:14), and, “Awake to righteousness, and do not sin . . . .” 1 Cor. 15:34. “That you may not sin.” 1 John 2:1. And in Romans 6:1-2: “Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? Certainly not! How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it?”
“For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil.” 1 John 3:8. He came to put an end to sinning. The Scriptures are as clear as crystal concerning this point. If this were taken away, as the religious world (so to speak) has done, the result would be a mutilated and false gospel, a harlot-gospel.
Sirach wrote, “Bind not one sin upon another; for in one you will not be unpunished.” Ch. 7:8. And, “Whatever you do, remember the end, and you will never go amiss.” V. 36.
It succeeds by faith!
