The Faith of Abraham
“Those who are of the faith of Abraham . . . .” “Who also walk in the steps of the faith which our Father Abraham had . . . .” Rom. 4:12. “By faith Abraham obeyed . . . .” Heb. 11:8.
This is as plain as it could possibly be. This is what Abraham’s faith was like. He believed that he should do precisely and exactly what God said!
He believed what God said, and he did what God said! He believed, and he was obedient.
All those who walk in these steps are Abraham’s children. That means they are true children of God, born of Him! They are also true disciples of Jesus Christ who have been accepted into His school where they learn from Him and become like Him in spirit and in truth, in mind and heart. This and nothing else is true Christianity.
“By faith Abraham . . . offered up Isaac . . . .” Heb. 11:17-19. All those who possess the faith of Abraham act in the same way. They believe and obey all of God’s commandments and orders and exhortations, with the unavoidable result that they become indescribably blessed, which is God’s good, acceptable, perfect, and absolute will.
Good success with this to each and every one!
